A lot of things

Well, what the heck happened to January? One month gone, 11 to go.

I want to start with something that's selfish....but cool. I got nominated for a national award for an ad that I wrote. I was told that I finished in the top 3 out of the 6, so I'm already pretty excited about this whole ordeal. I wont believe that I actually finished in the top 3 until I'm presented with something that states in official documentation that I finished in the top 3 in Canada in my respected category. Oh, right...the awards ceremony and such...it's called the Crystal Awards...and although my ad doesn't include a monkey...or a ninja...or a koala getting punched in the face...it's still pretty awesome.

The reason that I'm excited about this is because I've been recognized by the radio industry for my work in a field that I don't consider my strength. Well, that's not true...I think writing is the key to success in radio...whether you're a writer, sales rep, a jock, etc etc....but being a full-time writer isn't what I envisioned myself doing in the radio business....but I chose to and I've learned a great deal. I consider on-air my strength and I can't wait to get back on-air and see how much I can accomplish in that field. Anyways, enough of this...lets get to the other stuff.

Last week I attempted giving myself a haircut and my clippers slipped out of my hand and I almost shaved off have of my right eyebrow off. I managed to dodge out of the way and save my face and caught my clippers just before it smashed into the toilet. If there's one thing that this has taught me is that I am a ninja.

The Oilers. Well they're still playing mediocre hockey but currently are hanging on to the 8th and final playoff position.

I watched the Superbowl 43 on Sunday....man what a game! I had absolutely nothing invested in either Arizona or Pittsburgh but the game still gave me butterflies and quite possibly a minor stroke. Awesome finish though.
Now...lets talk about the other reason why people watch the Superbowl...the commercials. It makes it hard to go to the washroom, you cant go relieve yourself when the game is on, but when it goes to commercial you cant really get up either. I decided that the best time to go to the washroom was when Madden stuttered while trying to break down a play. Don't get me wrong, I love Madden...he's like Canada's Bob Cole...but when it gets down to the game and the ads...I'm gonna have to sacrifice the post-play analysis.
If you haven't seen the Superbowl ads, please YouTube them! Check out the "Doritos - Crystal Ball" ad....you know what...just watch them all. It's worth it cause a Koala gets punched in the face while wearing glasses and holding a coffee cup hahaha.

Alright, that's all. I got to go. Later Peeps.
