It's 2009...Happy New Year!

Well, the new year is here! I haven't posted in a while so I thought this is as good as time as any to get back at it. First off I hope everybody had a safe a memorable start to the New Year. I just read an article about a terrible fire at a club in Bangkok that left 60 dead and 212 injured. That's terrible.

I spent my New years hanging out with a bunch of friends...it was simple, but fun. I never really understood why people would want to get so drunk on New Years (or on any special occasion for that matter) where they can't remember what they did the night before. I prefer to remember things, that way when people post pictures of you on Facebook or put videos of you on Youtube you know the who, what, when, where, why and how. I like being the story teller compared to the one whose hearing the story...but that's just me.

I like this time of year for many reasons, 1) My Mom and a few of my friends have Birthdays on Jan.1st. 2) It gives you a chance to look back at the past year and reflect on what goals you accomplished and which goals still need a bit more time to be reached. 3) You get to set new goals...something I'm looking forward to this year and 4) I just finished watching the NHL Heritage/Winter Classic, which doesn't really count because it doesn't happen every year at this time but I thought it was wroth mentioning. Quick Notes: 1) Detroit beat Chicago 6-4 2) The home team has lost all 3 Heritage/Winter Classic games. Edmonton lost to Montreal and Buffalo lost to Pittsburgh 3) Ty Conklin is the only NHLer who has played in all the Heritage/Winter Classic games.

I accomplished most of my goals in 2008 and surpassed a few them...some I just flat out dropped the ball on, it happens but I have no regrets and I'm movin on. I have started making my new goals for 2009 and I choose not to share them here (sorry, it's just superstition haha). I think goals are important, they give you a sense of direction, something realistic to strive for and they help you get to where you want go in your career...and you meet some pretty cool people along the way. At this point I'm probably really not telling you anything new, this is just more a reminder...a pep talk before I go back to work tomorrow. Hi 5.

Anyways friends, I hope you guys are motivated going into the New Year and put the time and effort into everything you want to accomplish. I hope the New Year is great to you, your friends and family. I'm heating up chicken nuggets for lunch and their done now so I got to go...Later Peeps.
